Fun facts about hydrangeas

 

The flower that is celebrated on the 5th Jan with “Hydrangea day” (yes it’s a thing) has a lot to share with you. Just like poppies and lilies, local flowers have something special to say. And this is why we always make sure our bouquets are made with at wide variety of local flowers.

  • In Asia, if you give pink hydrangeas to someone, it means that you love love them

  • Early Spring until late autumn is when hydrangeas are produced

  • It has greek origins, “hydro” means water” and “Angus” means jar or vessel. This could explain why they need A LOT of water

  • From Southern Asia to the Americas, you will find them, they grow absolutely everywhere

  • It is also used as dried flowers, in particular the blue one
